We are in the process of setting up a studio in our basement. Currently we have the sheetrock up and are ready to put in cabinets but I am not sure what I want...the room is 14x11 and the only thing in there (that will stay) are two small chest freezers. Other than that, I need to put my potters wheel down there and I sew, scrapbook, stainglass, bead, etc. We will be plumbing in a sink. The space where the cabinets would go are two walls that are 6' and 11'. I was thinking of going with all lower cabinets and then putting up some magnetic strips over the lowers to hang kid artwork. I thought about building in a desk for sewing but I sew a lot of quilts and it is nice to have room to push them off the flat sewing surface if needed.
So....does anyone have pictures of your craft space? What do you like/dislike? What do you wish you could add?
