How much iron is too much while pg?

My iron levels were a bit low at my last dr's visit. She said no worries, just eat better, but since I have a hard time forcing myself to eat meats, leafy greens etc..lots of food aversions this pg , I got some floradix iron and herb supplement that I"m taking once a day (adult dose is twice). I also take a prenatal that has iron in it, so I was just wondering if anyone knew how much iron was too much? Thank you so much!!

well, my levels were a bit low as well and my midwife suggested taking double the dose of floradix for a while. I also take a prenatal (new chapter).

She also suggested eating more red meat and leafy greens as well as herbal infusions with nettle, RRL, oatstraw and alfalfa.

So, it seems that at least for the short term, taking more is fine when you are trying to boost a low level.

That said, I can't specifically say what 'too much' is.

Thanks! That's helpful to know that you are taking all that iron per your midwife.... I won't worry then!

severe constipation would be an indication that you have too much
