Our insurance paid 100% of all of our midwife charges!

that is awesome! what insurance is it? i'm still working on mine, probably won't happen ( i have tricare)

We have LINECO (Line Construction Benefit Fund) administered by BCBS.

Was that a CNM or a CPM? Ours makes a distinction...just curious! Congrats!

A CPM. I was completely shocked that ours didn't care. They just said to call within 48 hours of the birth and let them know where I delivered (home or hospital) and they would pay it all the same. I knew they "said" this, but no one believed they would actually pay for it.

That is so awesome.
Of course, homebirths are about one-fourth the price of hospital births. I don't understand why insurers don't jump on it. Even if one out of four births wound up as transfers it would still be such a good deal for them.
