I just found this thread. I was thinking all along that we should start one over here.

I haven't been spending much time at the computer...my preggo belly and back aren't taking well to the desk chair...and i'm trying to keep good posture. Plus I got kinda lonely for a couple of days there...everyone left!!!

I'm still following my usual routines though. Just not cleaning much else that's extra.

GLad to see Kivy and MIrta are back!!

dude...this is totally new for me. like, in the last two months i've just really had my stuff together...and it FEELS GREAT!!

between chore wars and flylady i've just been able to keep the kitchen and bathroom clean, those were my two hardest rooms and with them out of the way most days I can get to other more jobs.

it helps that i have always hated clutter and purge stuff nearly every week.

it also helps that i'm totally preggo and nesting.

cricket, cricket...anyone here??

pregnancy nesting has me totally wanting to keep stuff together, and then the fatigue just has me lazing away most of the day.

at least i've done so much prior cleaning that the house isn't getting too too bad.

although the other night, i swore DH was washing the dishes. He had the water on for like ten minutes. I was like YAY!!! But then I went into the kitchen and they weren't done.

This happens often. I just shouldn't get my hopes up.

And the real pissy part was that I had done the dinner-making dishes while dinner was cooking, and baby was already in bed. So there were only TWO dishes and TWO forks that had to be done in order to keep the sink spotless. That's why I thought he had done them...because, you know...I had already shined my sink and stuff for the night and it was ONLY TWO. But still. They were still sitting there. So I just did them. Flabbergasted.

It just bugs me.

Although at this point I have taken the advice of one of the posters who was on the thread that sparked us going over to chore wars. I am just willing to suck up the housework and do it. Even though it's unfair that he doesn't help...it's unfair that he ADMITS he doesn't help as much as he should and still refuses to change his ways. It's unfair, but I'm still going to do it because it's important to ME.

you know...i really can't remember. it was a thread written by a woman who wanted some tips on how to keep her house tidy. i can look back in my history...if i find it i'll post.

perhaps someone else remembers??

I don't know how to invite people to join.
I am having a totally off day. I haven't swept, haven't picked up, fell asleep (sitting up) on the couch... I ate a cold sausage patty and a fruit cup for breakfast. And I have nothing out for dinner (but thankfully I made those hamburger patties on Sunday, because I can easily broil them from frozen).
/complaining
I'm going to go make some coffee (which I was going to do earlier and forgot) and put some laundry in. Then maybe I'll clean something in the bathroom.

i don't think she's left for good. she's just not on the board yet this week.

eta: lol at "convincing someone else in the house to do a chore"!!! you guys are hilarious. that is definitely the most difficult chore for me to achieve.

i think the thread was kivgaen's "i live in a dirty house" thread, but i don't know who mentioned chore wars. i just thought it sounded like fun. i like scrolling through the list of chores and realizing i'm doing more than i thought.

Ok, that's great to know! Thank you!

I'm glad you like the new adventure. I just added budgeting and planning a menu as well. Hopefully those will come in handy to someone else as well.

I'm trying to set up a chore wars for DS1's chores. Each gold = 1 cent (he's supposed to do chores for allowance). I'm going to make the monsters drop things he can use for things irl- strings of cloth for a new piece of clothing, Lego pieces for a Lego set, metal pieces for game time (or a new game, depending on how much he's collected). I was thinking maybe of having some of them drop water, sugar, herbs, berries, flour and things of that nature which he can then "mix" and trade in for treats as well. Sugar + herbs + water = soda. That kind of thing.
What do you guys think?
