Best Breastpump for Under $150?

What is the best breastpump for under $150? I have the Avent manual Isis and I can't get anything from it. I tried a friend's Evenflo double electric pump and it worked better but it has terrible reviews so I'm nervous about buying it. I'm a a really limited budget and want to buy used if I can, but if not, it still needs to be under $150, under $100 is much better.

What do you think?

If you qualify for WIC you may be able to get a breastpump for free, check wth your local health department.

Also: This pump has good reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Lansinoh-Doubl...2816704&sr=8-2

("This is the same pump as the Ameda, just purple and marketed under the Lansinoh name, so all the parts are interchangeable." Quoted from positive reviews on Amazon)

Don't forget to check EBAY!

One note about buying used .... the motor may be wore out or on it's way to being wore out. I know mine probably isn't as good as it used to be.

i second trying wic.

I'm renting a hospital pump and it costs $25/m. totally worth it. I had a used Medela Pump in Style with my son, and even though it was 5 years old at the time, it worked great. I passed it on to my sister, and she passed it onto a friend. that thing was like a rock.

I am on WIC; I should look into this!

I got a used (for probably 2 years) Purly Yours off ebay on baby #1. I am now on baby #2, working full time (so pumping 2x a day) and it is still going strong. Best $70 I have EVER spent. Definite workhorse and small enough to fit in a purse. I also like that I can adjust the suction as well as cycle speed, unlike on the PIS.

Also, my kids (both in DC since 8 weks old) have never had anything but BM in a bottle.

I have and love the Lansinoh pump, got it for $100 and free shipping from drugstore.com.

Definitely check Ebay and Amazon.com for some decent deals.
I got my sealed Brand New "Medela Pump in Style" for less than $200 including shipping and it has been a Great pump for me! I can easily get 5-6oz out of one side in 15 mins or less!
I also have a Lansinoh Manual Pump that I got for like $20, that we keep in the car for situations when needed and it is a goo dlittl epump too, but my hand gets cramped up after a bit!

I have the Avent Manual as well....I really like it.

When I read what you said about not getting anything from it.....I put mine together wrong the other day and it would work. I have no idea why, but the little white nubby thing that goes underneath the handle has to be a certain way. I flipped mine around and it worked!

I don't know if thats the problem you're having but thought I'd share just in case

Under 'How to Reassemble Pump Before Use' picture #2 is the piece I was talking about.

Good luck!

I have the medela swing pump and I think its under $100(I got it 3 years ago for that I think). I also just bought the avent manual one at target on clearance for $18.00 a few days ago.

Thanks for all the advice!

I am getting to rent a breastpump from my WIC office. If it doesn't work well or if we ever get off WIC I'll look at this thread again.

Ok, so I thought WIC rented Breastpumps. They don't. They GIVE them to you.!!

I now have an Ameda Purely Yours brand new breastpump for free to keep. What a blessing!
