Oh, DS is so naughty he is making us crazy! Help!

He just turned 3. He has always been very strong-willed. Even at 8 months he used to yell loud at us!

Lately, he hits, kicks, throws things - all kinds of things - and acts up and won't obey at mealtimes. He hurts his 9-year-old sister regularly.

He gets put into time-out nearly every day, and always comes out and apologizes to whomever he hurt. But that's wearing thin.

We are very consistent in our discipline... I teach parenting classes for goodness sake! I don't know what to do about these persistent and annoying behaviors! I hate that I so frequently feel angry at him and irritated.

I just want to offer some encouragement my DD is 2 and strong willed and has been since day 1. I have also heard from my mommy friends of boys that they didn't have terrible two's but terrible threes. It sounds like you are doing just what you should be doing. Does he use his words to express what he is feeling that may help with venting what he is feeling in a less physical way. I have always heard that if you raise the strong willed child to do right than they will be strong willed to always do the right thing. I hope this helps!
