I have started reading the bible with my little ones. Can anyone recommend good bible stories for me to read to them? What about good websites with bible stories and activities?

We are beginners.....

We have a children's bible that we read with our kids. It has great illustrations and it shortens and simplifies the stories. We read out of that quite a bit. My DS loves the story of Jesus's birth (specifically when the angel appears to the shepherds) and the story of creation. You could also do the story of Noah, Ruth, Jesus's healings and teachings.

My kids are 10 and 9 now and we've only just started reading from the OT with them. We stayed away from the very difficult parts of the bible and I stuck with the parables of Jesus, they LOVED the story of the miraculous feediing of the thousands and anything Jesus taught. I never spent a lot of money on bible story books and such. I mainly trusted God to provide what we needed to teach them. We'd pick treasures up at thrift stores and discount bible story books. Now that they are older we do bible study, reading every night. We just read thru the bible. We've been thru genesis recently and have moved on to exodus now, with a bit of the book of John thrown in there. You honestly dont have to spend a lot of money, just some prayer time . God will lead you.

Thanks. I would really like to hear specific scriptures to read. I am new to the bible and would like to find nice stories to read to them...I know they are there....I just have no idea where! I have read Genesis the creation and then about the flood...but that is it.

I would like to stick to happy uplifting stories...and not to difficult to understand.

Well, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are basically the life and teachings of Jesus. So those will have his birth, parables, death, and resurrection in them.

My little two (4 and 2) like The Rhyme Bible. It's a children's Bible that's all written in verse.

I would recommend the Jesus Storybook Bible. It brings every story back to talking about Jesus, has beautiful illustrations and is easy to understand.

I also like the book Leading Little Ones to God.

I found a great one on Amazon.com. It is called DayByDay Bible for kids. You can read the whole Bible in seven minutes a day over one year. It is really true to the Bible except it leaves out all the begats, sex, and and wherefores etc..My eight year old can read it out loud to me and we discuss it..

My eight year old loves it!

Here is a link http://www.amazon.com/Day-Kids-Bible...3016716&sr=1-1
