I have made myself only few knit items i sew more for myself however i sew lot for the kids also. Right now on the needles i have bag for the kids bath toys and a skirt for my dd. but I'm almost done a living room quilt that is for me anyway my point is i like to knit for my kids because i like quick knits and because its just fun. maybe this yer i will knit more for myself

yes - especially when I was new and not confident to knit for other people. Now I've been knitting more for other people as I've become a better knitter. I've been "perfecting" the perfect market-bag by giving them away. Mine needs to be "just so."

I knit for others usually. I just made myself a hat, and in the past I made a cowl, and i-pod cozy. My grandma appreciates my knitted things so I make for her.

I am making a spring scarf (light and airy) and learning to spin (which will be for me).

I made myself a hat! I chose a different pattern (worked it on a car ride and wanted something simple). I love it and have been wearing it every day!

I also bought the patterns for all of these - they probably won't be made for a while, but one day for sure!

I mostly knit for my kids. We're in Chicago, so warm hats and mittens are a must. The baby is just 10 mos, so, still in diapers. I'm doing so much in the way of utilitarian knitting for him. He's just 10 mos and I've knit countless (ok, I'm sure I could count them, probably more than 20) diaper related items for him from sleep sacks to soakers to longies. Well, his bum, head and hands are sufficiently covered ATM, so, this week, I'm knitting a cardigan for me. Hope to get it done with a week and a half total time put in. I also have to stop thinking that I don't have the time to knit for me. Next month is his first birthday, so, of course, I have birthday knitting to do. And dd is still waiting on her sweater from last summer (I don't like knitting with cotton and that's what that sweater is made out of).

I've knit myself a cowl this winter. Two years ago I knit myself a sweater and a pair of fingerless gloves.
