my dd is almost 5 mos old. for almost a month now she has been getting up every 2 hours. her best night has been bed at 7ish, up at 12am, 2am 4am etc. i don't know how much longer i can take it. i work 3rd shift 2x a week and come home and take care of my 2 children so i really really need to sleep when i'm home at night. my dd has not started solids yet, only gets breastmilk. she was sleeping great until she got a cold over thanksgiving. is there anything i can do to get her to sleep longer? any insight would be great. oh, we don't co bed but i do pull her into bed at 4 so i can get some sleep and she still gets up 2 hours later.

No solution for you just hugs as we are going through the exact same thing with DD who is the same age. I could have written your post!
I have tried everything I can think of but no matter what she still wakes every 2 hours. Cosleeping has been the only thing that has really helped us all get more sleep as I can nurse her lying down and she falls asleep as soon as she's done.

Ugh, the 4-month sleep regression! I thought I had done something to cause it until I read these two articles:
Wakeful 4-Month Olds
What Are Sleep Regressions Anyway?
To get through these regressions, I co-slept with her and nursed her on my side. I got the most sleep that way since I didn't have to wake up completely to go get her. And we both drifted back to sleep pretty quickly without me having to move very much.
Do you swaddle her? That has really helped us!

My DS nursed every two hours at night till he was about 18 mons or so and now he usually nurses to sleep at 8-9 pm and then maybe needs to nurse again at around 1 am and then again at around 5 then he nurses to wake-up at around 7-8 am
I would be a crazy tired mama with out co-sleeping! I have not really flet sleep deprived (besides when DS is sick) on a regular bases since he was about 4 months old and would finally sleep off of me.
