the babytrekker

has anyone tried it? I've heard good things about it, but I wonder if it is suitable for a toddler. (I'm planning to buy a SSC when dd is older).
TIA!

I haven't tried one, but seem many of them in use. IMO the base is too narrow. You still get baby 'hanging from the crotch', although not as bad as with a bjorn. I also have heard people find way you adjust the straps (a series of different clips, I think) to be a pain. If you're looking for a ssc, there are better ones. Ergo, Beco, Olives&Applesauce, patapum, are all great carriers with a structured waist and fairly easy to get your hands on.

I really don't like it. I tried it with my now-7 year old ds, and I think it's an out-of-date, non-ergonomic design for both parent and child compared to many of the options out there. I didn't find it easy to use or comfortable to wear.

If you want a carrier that allows a forward facing out position, I'd recommend a Pikkolo or Connecta. Otherwise there are many good brands of SSCs that don't allow forward facing out but are much more comfy for both parent and child.
