I'm still nursing my 2 1/2yo. He only nurses maybe 3-4 times a day and is eating solids meals like the rest of us. He's very healthy. In the past 6 months I have gotten pregnant twice but miscarried both, the first one at 11 weeks although the baby had died at about 8 weeks and the 2nd one at just 4 weeks. Basically, I had 3 days of positive home pregnancy tests from 11-13dpo, then a negative hpt at 14dpo and
started the next day. I have had 5 miscarriages all together since 2005, having ds3 in between. I was nursing ds2, who was 2 years and 8 months, when I got pg with ds3 but had had 3 miscarriages before then while nursing ds2. DS2 weaned when I was around 8-10w pg with ds3.
I have been evaluated by doctors for my recurrent miscarriages and have tried different medications. It seems to be hit or miss. I've had a child on no med. I've miscarried on the meds more often than not. So, I want to try something more natural. I found a website that sells herbs for treating recurrent miscarriage, PCOS and blood clotting issues, all of which I have. The first thing to start with is a fertility cleanse. I would like to do this but know about the contraindications of doing a cleanse while nursing.
I'm wondering, though, if there's a difference between doing a cleanse while nursing a newborn who nurses around the clock vs. a 2 1/2yo who only nurses a few times a day. In the US society where it's abnormal to nurse a baby beyond 6 months, I'm wondering if the recommendations about doing cleanses take the age of the nursing child into account or if the recommendations are based on the assumption of a nursing infant.
Anyone have any thoughts, ideas, knowledge or experience on this?
