After Adrian's dad leaves her room she's holding a card in her hand and dials a number which turns out to be a women's clinic. They are closed and you can press a number to speak to a counselor which I believe she does. In the previews for the season, it turns out Adrian is pregnant. There are a few scenes with her laying on either her bed or Ben's bed and it looks like she's crying. There's always another scene with Ben and Amy and she's saying to him, "Adrian's pregnant?" There's also another scene where Amy is telling Ricki she loves him. It looked totally platonic to me. Also, another scene with Ashley and Ricki looks like they are going to kiss. Honestly, this season looks totally convoluted to me but I'll likely watch it if I remember.

Wow, the product that Grace's mom bought for her took "product placement" to a whole new level. That was advertising "The Truman Show" style...

lol I know! When Dh and I were watching it we were both like "Wow product placement much?"

I'm really disappointed Adrian is keeping the baby. This show is aimed at teens/preteens and to show them two girls who get pregnant who have incredibly supportive parents is just ridiculous! This show is glorifying teen pregnancy. Amy's life doesn't seem any harder now than it was before John. In fact, a lot of the difficult stuff she's dealing with is just normal teenage drama. When Adrian planned on getting an abortion, I was shocked (b/c of the creator of the show and the fact it's on Fam) I was very happy with the choice though, because it showed a different option and outcome of teen pregnancy.

Or even start planning adoption...but she's planning on being there.

I agree with most of what you said. I told DH at one point (he doesn't watch it) "It's crazy. This girl's life is exactly the same with a baby thrown in. You'd think she got a younger sibling for all the care she gives him." And then everyone encouraged her to leave her son and do the music program? I'm sorry, a baby means more responsibility. Not only that, but it's not like music (or any of "the arts") are strong career options. (DH and I were theatre majors...arts majors are a dime a million)

I agree.

I am disappointed at the direction they took Adrian it seems completely out of character. I knew she wouldn't end up having an abortion because of the creator of the show.
For some reason I don't think she'll end up having the baby though. I think they'll have her miscarry.
I was glad to see Amy being supportive of Adrian. It shows she's grown as a person.

I really can't believe everyone thought it was a great idea to separate a one year old from his mother for a month.
Amy's life doesn't seem much different after having a baby but neither do her parents' after having their baby.

Grace is irritating as usual. And I really do not like Madison and Lauren they are so freaking annoying.

I feel bad for Ashley because having feelings for Ricky will only hurt.

I had the same thought. They can't have another teen mom with a successful pregnancy for another season...it's just not how TV is done IMO. Something has to go wrong.

I was also annoyed Adrian kept the baby. I don't like the way they have her storyline. I also think they are going to have her miscarry. She doesn't seem to be taking motherhood seriously and it's like it's one big joke.

I am glad Amy is in NY to give us a rest from her annoying personality but I agree that they are portraying motherhood as so easy for her.

I don't like what they are doing to Ashley's character

DH tunes into the show sporadically and he was upset about the Adrian storyline. For someone who claims to not be into the show he had a lot to say about it.

Ok, you know its bad when Amy is the least annoying.

My rants . . .

Ashley is making me so mad. She was my favorite but has now turned into a little tart. I mean some people are just off limits. Deal with it Ashley.

Grace is so desperate it is just sad.

Adrianne acted like the biggest (insert bad name here) at the doctors office. I mean really.

Ben is being such a spoiled little kid.

And Madison is just crazy.


And, if Ricky didn't kiss Ashley, I would still like him.


ugghhh why do I keep watching this show.

This show is like a train wreck...and I can't take my eyes off of it! I watch it and the entire time think, why am I watching this, but every week I sit down for it.

I can find some humor in the show, but thinking back to how impressionable I was in HS, it's scary to think what this show is portraying to HS kids right now. My parents talked to me about sex, but NOT like these parents! And, I think the parents have had more "partners" on this show than most of the teens.....it's all really odd to me....yet I'm still tuning in.

Anyone see the season finale yesterday? I used to love this show and now it seems like it's about teen couple swapping and irresponsibility. The Amy/Ricky pairing is annoying and seems silly given the rest of the season. Didn't Ricky admit to wanting Adrian to be the one to change him or was I hearing things.

This made me laugh - because it ACTUALLY happened to my sister! I think she was switching from the Depo shot to pills - but essentially the same thing.

so far its sooo boring. ben and adrian is just plain annoying. the storyline with ricky's mom is bizarre too.

 

i keep watching though wink1.gif

 

oh and i liked ashley before too... now she is just a butthead

I really hate this show, but I watched a couple episodes in the beginning (being a single mother myself-though not when I was 14), and now I check in from time to time. I just had to say how irritated I was with how they are portraying homeschooling (which doesn't really sound like homeschooling anyway, more like in home tutoring). I'm sure it will only get worse.

I ahve seen its few episodes, it is really interesting. But I can't continue it to due mine exmination. SO, now I will be start again to watch it online.
