Has anyone ever had a new furnace installed and then had ongoing cold symptoms?
DH and I had just gotten over colds before our furnace went out. The landlord called somebody to look at the furnace, who tinkered around and got it working, but said it was leaking a small amount of carbon monoxide so he couldn't leave it running. Obviously we didn't want it left running anyhow! We have a carbon monoxide detector right next to the attic door, so I don't think it had been an issue up until that point.
So landlord buys a new furnace.
At some point around this time DH and I both started having on again off again cold symptoms.
Well, I attributed mine to pregnancy congestion, mixed with my normal allergies, and getting over a cold. But DH VERY rarely gets sick...so for him to keep getting semi-sick is weird. We had both been feeling relatively better, other than him having a dry throat at night (even with the humidifier...we both assumed it was just that it's been a cold winter and the heater was running more than normal). But then yesterday he started feeling sick again, and then last night and today I've been feeling sick again.
The pattern of these "colds" is not my usual cold pattern (throat to nose to chest)...but I figured pregnancy was making things weird.
I was having some of these issues well before we got the new furnace, and honestly even though DH says he wasn't, I really think he was.
I'm having a lot of reflux, too, so I sort of thought that the congestion/coughing feeling was coming mostly from that. But it still doesn't explain DH!
So my questions are if anybody has ever experienced anything similar? Are we just allergic to something in our house? I've been at work all day and am not feeling any better...feeling worse if anything. We spent Christmas weekend with my parents and DH felt sick during that time as well, though started to feel somewhat better during the last part of the trip while we were at his parents'.
If you've experienced something similar, did you ever figure out the cause? Certainly we haven't had this many "mini-colds" in the past 6 weeks. If it was just me, I'd say pregnancy. But DH is just never sick! I don't get it!

ETA: We're hopefully closing on a house in three weeks and moving. So getting the landlord to believe that it has anything to do with the furnace and having him get someone out to check on it is probably pretty unlikely. I feel a bit stuck between a rock and a hard place.
