Gyuh, probable retained placenta

So, I'm 10 weeks pp after a c-section with my twins, and I've been having waves of bleeding on and off, so I went in for an u/s.

It showed a rather large (to me) piece of tissue in my uterus. About the an inch diameter or a little bigger. It was clear even from an external u/s. It didn't have blood flow to it, which apparently usually indicates placental tissue. It's apparently sitting right above the endometrial tube, and sort of blocking it.

They scheduled me for a D&C and scope next week, and I'm sort of hoping it'll improve my milk supply. I have a decent supply, but I still supplement. My refluxy babe really does better on breastmilk than formula, though. Unfortunately he's got a weaker latch, and is smaller, so we really can't rely on him to exclusively nurse right now, and I don't pump enough milk for all his supplements.

I'm hoping that even at 10 weeks pp, it'll help things a bit. I was even just researching acquiring some dom, but I might wait now.

Anyone have any experience here? With retained tissue so late? Or any other experiences with what it could be aside from placenta?

My retained placenta was identified at around 10 weeks I think. About three days after the D&C, (or maybe two), I started dripping milk much more (would be changing a diaper and it would just be FLOWING).

For me, I continued to have supply issues but I think that was mostly a result of dd1's reflux and the fact that she had learned to limit feeds to manage her pain. Once we got her allergies, reflux, etc. under control, I was able to work with my LC and build my supply back up to a full supply and nursed her 'til she was 2 1/2. And have since nursed another babe, full supply, no issues.

If you are diligent about taking advantage of things in the first few days afterwards, I suspect that your supply will build up to FULL. Good luck!

ETA: My flow, which had been still going on during most of that time, also stopped on Day 3 I think. And never came back. It was really nice!
