Green Smoothie Recipes!

So, I am sure there are other threads for this, but I couldn't find it...

I really want to add more green smoothies into my diet, but am having a hard time coming up with ideas. I used to drink them a lot, but now can't remember what I did!
I am thinking yogurt with greens sounds gross (but if you have a good recipe... POST IT!), so I don't think that is what I did... I also don't have access to good eggs at the moment, so am trying to think of ways to get protein into the smoothie so it isn't so carb rich. Maybe I just need to eat yogurt or eggs and drink a smoothie... I dunno.

Anyway, would LOVE to have a thread of a bunch of recipes to turn to!

You can do just about anything and add spinach to it. My favorite is blueberry, just a banana, flax seeds, coconut milk (or water and a tblsp coconut oil), frozen blueberries and greens.

My absolute favorite is chocolate. I use about 1/2 cup coconut milk, 2 tblsp good cocoa powder, 4 or 5 dates depending on size, a tblsp almond butter and a bunch of spinach. I use banana in it sometimes but not always.

And I always add good vanilla and cinnamon

Joining this thread!

We have been adding spinach or baby green piled high to smoothies and it is so yummy! I can't help on the protien aspect because one of the only protien things we can add is chia seeds. We are dairy (except ghee) and egg free

Water
chia seeds (several tablespoons)
maple syrup
bananas
blackberries (seedy but adds so much good flavor)
blueberries
(if using strawberries I don't add the other beries)
4 cups of greens (for 3 servings, dh, me and 2 yr dd)

We do a really simple kale, orange juice, and banana smoothie. Even the kids like it

Mine is really simple, and I usually do 1/2 w/ breakfast (just eggs) and 1/2 w/ lunch (leftovers or whatever ).

2 cups water
1/2 banana
1/4-1/2 cup berries (frozen right now), fruit, etc.--I've been using pomegranate lately
1.5 cups greens (whatever I have)
10 drops of Concentrace (to enrich it w/ minerals--so it's like I used mineral water to make it)
Sometimes I've replaced some of the water w/ some coconut milk or coconut milk yogurt, or added some coconut oil as well for good fats

That's it! I used to add raw honey and bee pollen too, but I'm out of bee pollen right now and avoiding all sugars (including natural ones) atm. It's more of a mild flavored juice than a smoothie though. I've also added clo to get it in (nordic naturals arctic d is what I used b/4--but not the strong tasting fermented stuff--that will ruin the whole batch!)

The comment about mineral water reminded me...

I make a cold nettle or alfalfa infusion and add that as the liquid for the smoothie, to help get more minerals. I just let is steep in the fridge until I use it all up. It's tasty too.

I have lots of ideas, I'll come back later. I love green smoothies, I'm working on one right now.

I've done oatstraw infusions in the past as a base too--Susan Weed style. I'd do nettles too, but they give me a headache...(need to look into that/deal w/ it...)
