Is this test valid?Need fast help pls.UPDATE!

Let me start off by saying that we are not ttc, I'm on the pill and also a full time student with a 3.5 yr old dd. Way too much information!! Last night while we were fooling around my dp sucked a little on my nipple (I'm sorry to be so graphic!), and pulled back and said that "milk" came out of it. And it really freaked me out since I stopped breastfeeding my dd almost two years ago and there hasn't been any "milk" in there since. So I was freaked out and squeezed my poor boobs (which were already a little sore) to see if I could get anything to come out and I couldn't. But I couldn't stop thinking about it. Was supposed to get af on Monday but it still hasn't come. I've been cramping for a while now like I'm going to get but I still haven't, which is a LITTLE bit unusual for me since I have suspected for a long time that I have pcos. So today I went to dollar general and got a $1 test and took, the only thing is that when I did I thought I messed it up because I did not pee in a cup and dip it, I put it midstream and I also got some pee on the control window. so I thought I messed it up and I was looking at it as soon as I pulled it up and there was no excess moisture on it from the pee that got on there and slowly the pee was starting to move across the strip and it showed a DARK positive line right away, I have never seen it show up immediately like it did. But I just don't know if this is accurate since I did get some pee on the control window. Did I somehow mess it up?
I just cannot believe this. I went and bought another test, however they were out of the $1 tests so I got one of the $4 which has the "cross" test. I am just waiting until I have to go pee again and I am thinking about peeing in a cup this time. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks so much for reading all this.

getting pee on the window would not make a negative a positive...

youre pregnant hun...

and the crampings normal. I missed my period tuesday and am cramping pretty bad right now, but still pregnant nonetheless!

Ummmm....I don't think peeing on the control window will give you a dark false positive, but I'm not a big pro on preg. tests. Come to the September DDC...there are a few women there who can't stop peeing on tests and they'll know just what's normal or not.

Best of luck to you!

sounds like you are pg...not expected perhaps but congrats! you'll figure it out!

Oh and I should add that I would pick up a more expensive test and get a definitive answer - a digital one will leave no question for you or dp!!

Wow, well thank you ladies for your fast responses. I guess I am. I took the other test right now and it came up within seconds, dark. I just really cannot believe this. Its very unexpected (I love this baby already though ) We planned EVERYTHING with my dd and it actually took about 8 months to conceive her and now this? wow, I am just in shock and I have no idea how my dp will take this. He's at work right now and already not having a great day. I'm just stunned. And to top it off I've been doing crap that you shouldn't do when you're pregnant. Well thanks so much ladies and I guess I will be seeing ya'll around the september club. Congrats to everyone!

If you mean drinking/smoking you should be fine yet... if your period was only due monday the baby would be fine as it doesnt get anything until a couple weeks after your period is due.

as for telling him, if hes not having the greatest day today... I would personally wait to tell him so its on good terms and not just-another-thing-to-add-to-the-pile

Was your last period lighter than normal? Is it possible that your last visit from AF was really just implantation bleeding and you're further along than you think?
When I took pregnancy tests with my last pregnancy, I took two tests and the one that wasn't with my morning urine was negative. Having it come up so dark and fast seems a bit odd to me if AF's only 4 days late..?

As far as the accuracy of Dollar Store tests, they look to me like they're the same exact kind I've seen used at Planned Parenthood. I think they're pretty reliable, just cheaper since they're not brand name and they don't have an advertising budget.

That said, I got a digital test this time around. Seeing the word "pregnant" pop up on the screen was a much different experience than squinting at a line.

taking tests today (16dpo, only 2 days past my missed period) I am getting dark lines instantly on most of my tests.... its totally possible by that point. Perhaps if she had not yet missed her period, it may be odd, but not when she would be likely around 18dpo.

I think it all depends upon how your body produces HCG.

With DD2, I know when DH and I did the deed. Both times were two weeks apart. But somehow, I was "pregnant" off 8 day old sperm. I did a hpt on what was going by LMP 4 wks 4 days. The line was ghost like.

I took another test at what would have been 5 weeks by LMP; and 4 weeks by my calculation. Again ghost line.

I broke down and tested again a few days later, and ghost line, then and tested digital because I hated the ghost lines.

Congrats! See you in September!

yeah, it really varies from woman to woman, even from pregnancy to pregnancy. I was getting dark lines at 10-11dpo.

I took two tests (a generic store brand) about 4 days after I missed my period, and it was a huge dark line (couldn't have been more obvious if it were a flashing neon sign). I'm right on for my dates.

Well I told Dp who was upset at first (understandably) but now is happy and making plans and calling to tell people. We actually went and bought three more tests. Two of them were digital and the "pregnant" came up almost right away! So I guess that's that
Yes I am pretty sure about my dates. I think maybe my body produces a lot of hcg or something because with my dd I tested positive at 10dpo, I'm not sure exactly how many dpo I am with this pregnancy though. Its just weird and my dp couldn't understand how I didn't miss ANY pills last month. There have been other months that I've missed pills and I've always told him about that so he'd have sort of a "heads up", so he was really shocked too. I had to tell him about everything not being 100% etc etc. Still not sure what I'm going to do about school. This is my dream and it looks like I'll have to wait out a whole year (but get to spend time with my baby and dd).
So now the normal pregnancy worries are upon me. Now that I know I'm pg and am getting excited about the baby, I'm just scared that something will happen. I was like this with my dd too though.
So thanks so much for everything ladies and I will definately see ya around

well, I just got pregnant with #2 while on the pill. It is not 100%, there is always a chance! I am glad you are both happy about it, kids are such a blessing! I also got the dark positive line IMMEDIATELY.

lol I also got pregnant with DD (DC #2) on the pill... not missing any.

I got a bfp with her at 6dpo (confirmed by several ultrasounds because we figured since I had a bfp over a week before AF was due and I bled the white-pills prior I may have had breakthrough bleeding and was a month further along NOPE!)

I would have to say... until you can get some diagnostics for determining length of pregnancy, just go with the usual LMP and assuming O was 14 days before this AF was due. Of course, it could be wrong, but its likely to be pretty close to correct.

DD1 and DD2 were both conceived on the Pill, taking 100%. After DD2 I used the Mirena.

My twins were conceived while I had an IUD. It had just been checked by the doctor a month before conception, too, and everything was "a-okay." Yeah.

99% effective, whatever.
DD1 was a pill AND condom baby. She really, really wanted to be a part of our family.

This baby got past an IUD. Stubborn little thing. But yeah, them tests don't give false positives.
