My 11 month old used to be really good about nursing anywhere, but in the last few months she will only nurse at home in our darkened quiet bedroom with no distractions whatsoever... (if my husband or even the dog walk in she whips her head round and stops!) Generally I am still trying to nurse her before her morning and afternoon naps and before bed. Lately it's like pulling teeth to get her to nurse at all during the day... she arches her back wails and its generally an hour long wrestle match to get her to sleep in which I keep enticing her back for sips here and there. We cosleep and she still wakes up very frequently and doesn't always need to nurse but when she does its a longer session than the daytime. Is this her way of trying to self-wean? I understand its a distractable age, but how long does this last? I really wanted to keep breastfeeding for a longer time, but how will my supply keep up? How often do most 1 year olds nurse?
