Repairing dvd's?

Is there a way to cover or fix scratches in dvd's with something I'm likely to have at home already. I've heard that there was something you could buy but we are beyond broke and I'm tired of the shrieks that happen when the little guys favorite dvd stalls out on him. tia

Try coating it in Brasso, let it dry, then buff off. The cream will fill in the cracks and help it to work better. This also works for PS games LOL!

When we get used dvd games at game stop they use a buffing machine to get out the scratches.Cost $1 if you take in your dvd to get buffed.

Peanut butter if you're not allergic, chap stick, there is a thing called a DVD doctor you can buy that buffs them with water.
I have found Pledge also works. But the Chap stick is great, too. We don't do PB, but I have heard that it works. Don't do it to a rental, though, because someone with a peanut allergy could touch it and have a severe reaction.
