Do you wash covers in same load as diapers?

I read online that when washing diapers you shouldn't wash natural and synthetic fibers together. We have BG onesize covers and also Bummis super snaps, organic cotton prefolds and some cotton fitteds. It seems tedious to me to wash these separately but I don't want to ruin them by washing them together...

Its enough effort for me even to wash them at all so they all go in together here-bumgenius, kissaluvs, bsww covers, thristies all just tossed in with some 'tree hugger detergent' as my husband calls it.

Oh good, that makes me feel better, thank you!

yep...in hot water
i throw in our bummies covers
with the cloth diapers
with a few drops of lavender essential oil
with a bit of borax
and a smidge of natural laundry detergent
and the cloth wipes
and my mama cloth
and it all comes out fine...

I don't, but only because I wash covers more often than diapers. I just throw the covers in with regular laundry.

All our diapers get washed together. Our stash includes: ubipfs, bG OS, bG organic snap, Swaddlebess OSOV, Cricketts, and Tiny Tush OS.

Thanks! I didn't think about having to wash the covers more often because there are less of them than the dipes. When you wash the covers with your regular wash do you use hot or cold? We wash most of our regular laundry in cold, is that ok for the covers?

I wash everything together if I can't then I wont buy them. Haven't ever had an issue. Oh I washed and dried everything on hot.

We just put away all of the dipes here.. but when we were still using them I always washed everything together.

I threw everything in for a quick cold rinse
then a hot wash/cold rinse with soap and borax
then another hot wash/cold rinse to make sure everything was rinsed fully

then i threw everything into the dryer and dried it on hot

I wash everything together too.

I wash everything together. Chinese prefolds, rice paper liners, terry wipes, and Bummies Super Whisper covers. I put them all in the dryer on high, too. The covers don't wear out any faster than the diapers, I can usually use them through 2 babies.

I do them separately to reduce wear and tear on the covers, which don't need the deep-cleaning treatment of pooey inserts.

I throw covers in with the regular baby laundry, inserts get the rinse-wash-extra rinse treatment.

I never heard that about natural and synthetic fibers, but anyway our inserts are synthetic too.

I don't put my covers in the dryer. I also usually was them all on cold, and that's fine. Recently we've had yeast issues lately, so I'm washing them on hot with a little bleach. But that's just me, probably not necessary.

also, since i don;t wash diapers every day, each night (or if i have a moment) i hand wash my daughters bummi covers in the bathrm sink and hang them to drip dry in the tub (dh hung an extra shower curtain rod on the opposite side of the curtain) and in a few hours they wouldn't be dripping and i'd be able to put them on a drying rack... although now she is wearing big girl underpants!!! so i think we're done with diapers!

We wash everything together. Covers are line dried while everything else goes into the dryer in the winter.
