We are on the baby food gravy train thanks to the new WIC packages. I get 95(!) jars of baby food per month for the little dude, 30 of which are baby meats. I'm a vegetarian, so I'm not going to feed my LO the baby meats. I wasn't going to get the meats at all, but DH pointed out that 2oz glass jars would be perfect for pesto next year, so I got the baby meats for the first time last month.

Since I need to clean out the jars, I've been letting my dog serve as the pre-rinse cycle. She does a bang up job, too. She's a 70# dog who's been getting 2 oz of boiled, pureed lamb, turkey, or chicken every day.

For the past couple of days, I've been noticing that her fur looks great. She's a short haired gold dog, so she's normally shiny, but lately, it's like you need sunglasses to look at her. You know that noise hot metal makes in the sun? "Waanaah"? That noise? I hear that noise when I look at my dog lately.

Then today it occured to me that maybe it's the baby food. It doesn't seem like it would do much, 2 oz of baby food meat for 70# dog, but she's shedding less and she's just sooo shiny.

So what do you think, MDC Pets? Is it the baby food? 'Cause if it is, I'm thinking I might boil and puree chicken for the dog and dole it out a little every day.
