Butter Usage - Page 2

I love to mix peanut butter, softened butter, and honey together and eat it with a spoon.

I know you said you weren't interested in other types of flours, but somebody mentioned sprouted grain bread, and I just wanted to say you should think about going down the sprouted flour path. I used to think it sounded crazy and like lots of hard work, but it really isn't. I sprout wheat berries all the time now, dry them overnight on low in the oven, throw them in my grinder, and bake bread with the flour (okay, I confess, I give it to my mom, and she bakes the bread in her bread machine!) If nobody told me it wasn't regular flour in the bread, I would never, ever notice a difference (other than maybe tasting a little bit better than regular!) I even bake chocolate chip cookies with it and feed them to my DH, who is very anti-TF, and he has no idea their not regular old cookies. To me, it's sooooo worth it to be able to have a nice big slice of bread to slather that butter on--nothing like it!

I have a very butter laden soup recipe. Zucchini Bisque.

And, I know you are cutting back on grains and these are probably not healthy or "traditional" but shortbread cookies are seriously out of this world.

Why, oh why did I click this thread? I just started an elimination diet to try to pin point what is reeking havoc on my stomach. I'm on day 2 of being dairy free, & I never thought butter would bother me but after reading all of this I really want something topped with lots of butter!!!!

I personally feel amazing allowing my body these few grains a day (good protein and B vitamins!). I don't think it's grains, but gluten, that people should really be avoiding. So anyway, my thinking is, if you aren't sensitive to it, eat your toast with butter daily! Just maybe choose the sprouted brands!
Sprouted grain breads are rather expensive, and making your own sprouted grain breads are labor and time intensive. I know I'm going for avoiding grains because I just don't have the time or extra funds for it.

One of my favourite recipes is zucchini bread, and although I usually have it plain, it tastes pretty good with butter as well.
