outgrowing bouncy chair - now what? - Page 2

We got a hand-me-down exercauser and 8 mo DS loves it. He's in his own world sometimes when he's in it, studying and playing with the toys on it. We got it out at around 6 1/2 mo after we got unpacked from moving, but I could have used it sooner and he would have really liked it then too, I believe.

I plan to get a door jumper when he's more mature to bounce vertically (ie spine not ready for that at 8 mo).

I also sometimes just put him on his tummy and he rolls and plays. There's a musical toy that plays sounds when he's using it so I know what he's doing. I also play peek a boo while showering.

Great idea to the previous poster who uses that rocker and has the bottom in the seat deal going on! I'll keep that in mind when DS is older.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!

We have officially retired the bouncy - DS flipped over the side yesterday. Ouch! Today (since I hadn't had a chance to buy anything new yet) I drug his high chair into the bathroom It worked, but kind of a pain in the butt!!

For those that set their babe on the bathroom floor - do you have large bathrooms? Ours is smallish and I feel like there's so much he could bump into! I guess I could babyproof an area though!

How do you feel about having your LO in the shower with you? My DD sits in the bottom of the tub and plays in the water and has a grand time. Just throwing out ideas until you have time to purchase something.
