Welcome! If your moving to Suffulk you will have room for your animals and a garden. Suffolk is still country mostly. I grew up in Va Beach. But have lived in the Roanoke area the last 17 years. So I can't tell you what all goes on in that area. Good luck with your move.

Hi there I'm in Lakeside now... we'd been talking on another thread http://www.mothering.com/discussions...2#post15600852 about getting together but nothing had formed up yet... I've got a 15 month old daughter and a boy due in September (I imagine you're enjoying the heat as much as I am, LadyCatherine)... We've been really busy moving (from Midlo) but things are starting to settle a little bit and I'd love to get up sometime.

Hello,
My name is Heather and I just started a new children's group, Emotionally Intelligent Children of Peaceful Parents. My husband and I are attachment parents. We believe that we should be proactive in determining our child's needs. I'm devastated when I hear people belittle and demean their children with such foul words. It pains me to witness mothers repeat, "Because I said so", as a response to their children's questions. It hurts to see such beautiful innocent children loose their innocence and be betrayed by those who are suppose to love and honor them. Conscious parenting is an “on purpose” choice to be present and available with our kids and to show up when they need us. It’s not an easy road because it takes time, heart, energy, effort and is constantly pushing us to our limits as human beings. I feel its important to be surrounded by like minded families who understand the journey we've embarked with our precious sensitive children.
