Hi all! DS is nearly 15 months and has only started walking about a month ago. I would say he's still toddling around. He absolutely hates wearing anything on his feet, including socks and booties. Do I have any chance of encouraging him to wear shoes so he can go outside? Or is it something I will just have to wait and sit through? Thannks in advance!

My DS was/is the same way. If he doesn't have to wear something on his feet, he doesn't. We started him in daycare back in September when he was 16 months old. They require all the kids to wear shoes at all times. I didn't ask how they managed to do it but I'd imagine it's the repetition thing. Boy takes off the shoes, staff puts the shoes back on. You just have to put something on his feet one more time than he takes them off
As far as taking him outside, maybe the experience will be interesting enough that he'll be to distracted to even think about his feet.

Ann, don't you guys have snow now? No, maybe you don't since you've got all that ocean around you.
Okay, pretend you're up in the north of Scotland in January and you want your 15 month old to get to walk around outside...
Rubber Ducky, I've carried Lina outside and sat down in the snow (adult snowsuits are
for snow play) to put her shoes on when she's resisting. Once she's outside (and cold) she'll cooperate with that.
The other thing I've done is have a "socks and shoes" chair near the front door. I'll sit her on that and give her her shoes to hold while I put on her socks, then I put on whichever shoe she hands me then the next one. Because she's sitting with her legs straight out it's harder for her to reach down and pull of her foot wear. And we've used the chair so much now "come on, sit in the socks and shoes chair so we can get ready to go outside!" that unless she's having a "I needed be outside an hour ago!!!" tantrum, she's happy.
In the car, or playing at home, shoes off, socks off. (And then she sticks her icy toes into my stomach when she nurses.
