I'm here too...
I have been into yoga for a long time-on and off since high school when i got into it because one of my friend's moms taught and they had a studio in the house. my friends and i would meet there and do classes before school. I always enjoyed it over the years and dabbled in different styles whenever, but never regularly.
Just last spring I realized that there was a lot of audio podcasts out there that made it possible to do yoga at home without a babysitter! since then i have been soooo into it. I practice almost every day and feel actually like i am changing and expanding myself physically and spiritually. it grounds me and makes me come alive every time i get onto the mat. most of the podcasts i can get on itunes that are challenging enough to get me to surrender something are Baptiste trained teachers. When i do take classes it is usually Anusara. I know that Baron Baptiste's yoga is controversial, but I love it. do any of you know why it is so controversial? I don't see how it is so different than other types like anusara, kripalu or traditional ashtanga. I'd love to hear what you all think. I love being pushed to my fullest edge and the peace that comes after a full 90 minutes or more when pigeon, plow, headstand or savasana is a true, deep, blissful meditation.

Anyway, glad to find this thread...
