Things your baby does that makes your heart happy!

I've been having a few bad days, so I need to hear about your adorable babies to cheer me up!

My son will often hum while he's nursing. He's 4 months old, and every once in a while he will just go "mm MMM mmm" in the middle of a nurse! It makes me so happy - my milk is good enough to sing about!

We also have a huge wall mirror in our kitchen, and if I set him down in a bouncer beside it, he will spend the entire time I make dinner talking to "Mirror Baby".

What about you? What does your baby do?

DD is 10 months old, so life with her is getting to be so much fun. We've recently started to play a chasing game. She's new to walking, so this is usually while crawling. She'll come up to me, laugh and crawl away as fast as she can to get me to chase her. When I go after her, she'll just flop onto her belly on the floor and giggle like crazy.

She's also started giving kisses. Nice, slobbery kisses too! I especially love to see her when she sees a newborn baby. The first thing she wants to do is kiss it.

It also makes my heart happy to see her interacting with other babies her age. I baby sit a little girl 4 weeks older than her, and just yesterday they were playing peek-a-boo with each other. DD would squat down on one side of the play kitchen and pop back up and they'd both giggle at each other.

In the middle of the night, if she gets restless, she'll reach out an arm until she finds my hair. Then, she'll twirl her fingers around in my hair until she falls asleep. She just needs to know her momma is close by.

We finish nursing and he looks up at me, and half smiles, and in the softest little voice, he says, "goooo!"
I melt every time he does that. Totally and completely melt!

My 7 mo son has recently started crawling. And he likes to "check in" with me. He'll crawl over to a toy, play, crawl into my lap for a minute and snuggle, then play again for a minute. Repeat over and over. I think it's so sweet that he needs to pause for snuggles so much!

Also, he will "talk" in his baby babbles and then give me a big grin like he said something very funny. It's so cute!

My 8 month old is standing independently and he has also learned to clap. So he will stand up, wiggle his booty, clap and squeal. Melts my little

Wyatt smacks his lips when he's done nursing. I love it! It's adorable, and he even does it in his sleep.

He just started dancing, which is the cutest thing ever. I got a short video of it the other day: Wyatt dancing.

He also started shaking his head and clicking his tongue, both of which are adorable. I think everything he does is adorable though. The other day he was banging with a wooden spoon and that was adorable!

Oh, and whenever I'm having a rough day, I watch this video that my husband took of Wyatt when he was 8 weeks old. It makes me smile EVERY time

My little man (he turns ONE tomorrow!! OMG, where has the time GONE??) will walk over to me after he's been playing for a while, and put his head down in my lap for a quick cuddle, and then go back to playing. He often does this many times, its so cute it just makes me melt!

My son (4 mo) loves to play games when he's finished nursing. Sometimes he makes little noises by blowing air out of his mouth while he's still latched on. It makes a little fart noise and he thinks it's hilarious. He also loves to look up at me and smile until I look at him and then hide his face. He'll do this over and over again- like peekaboo.

I also love watching him sleep at night. It's so sweet when he smiles and whimpers in his dreams.

-The big grins he gets while he's nursing. So sweet. I remember my midwife telling me to "treasure nursing while you can, because they will never look at you the same way again". She was so right!

-How he reaches for me now, like I'm the best person in the whole world.

-The way he laughs and snuggles into me when I tickle him

-His "serious" face, like when he's concentrating on a toy, or trying to pull himself up. It's so adorable.

-How happy he is in the bathtub. He gets so excited he just laughs and splashes. It's probably the best part of our day together.

And to the OP, I'm sorry you've been having a rough time the past few days. Making this short list was a good reminder for me at how blessed I am to be a mama!!

When he first wakes up from a nap, and I go in to get him and its like he's been sitting there waiting for me. As soon as he sees me his eyes light up and he crawls across the bed to me and climbs onto my lap and he's just SO thrilled to see me, I love it! He always wakes up in the best mood

9 month old DD
-When she strokes my chest when she's nursing.
-When she comes bounding over when she sees my boob.
-When I lay down next to her, and she gets really excited and tackles me.
-For diaper changes, when I go to put her clean diaper on, she'll take off nakey bum, looking back at me to make sure I'm chasing her. I crawl after her, and she just screams with delight, finds something to pull up on, and then consents to me putting her diaper on while she's standing. It just melts my heart, especially given how difficult diaper changes had been getting before I gave her the control.

My baby will be 11 months on Thursday.

She just started taking steps this past week so that melts my heart.

The way she hums "Mmmmm MMmmmmm" when she's really tired and trying to nurse to sleep.

She laughs a lot.

She sees the door to the upstairs open, puts her head down likes she's charging and crawls as fast as she can to get there before someone closes it.

She growls at toys.

The excited giggle she makes when she knows she's going to get to nurse, it's the only time we hear that noise.

How she excitedly flaps her hands and arms when she's happy.

She tucks her head into me an hides when she doesn't want to socialize with someone thats trying to talk to her.

Sh'es a very happy baby and makes us smile a lot.

DD now sleeps in her crib and when I go to get her in the morning, she's standing and starts jumping up and down and squeals! LOVE it!

Great Thread!

I MELT when I'm nursing Lyra and she unlatches for a moment, nuzzles my boob while cooing at it, rubbing her nose into my nipple, just enjoying it's company. She also clings onto my shirt or bra with her top hand while she eats, as if to convey to me "mama I need you, please don't ever leave me".

Also, When you prop her up on your knees when lying on the couch (so she is facing you), you pick up her feet, sniff them and exclaim "PEEE YOOOUUUU!!!", she grins ear to ear and does this cute little noise which I now know to be the beginnings of her laughter.

And I love when I pull her out of the sling/moby/mei tai that she always stretches out, her arms way above her head and arches her back and rubs her eyes. I know she is well rested.

So fun! Ds is almost 1 (yes, where *has* the time gone?) and has had a real renewed interest in nursing lately. In the am, when dh gets him from his room and brings him into our bed, he likes to nurse. When I sit up and begin unbuttoning my nightgown, he starts to grin and *laugh* - like full on belly laughs! I always imagine him saying, "oh man, this is gonna be soo good!" It cracks us up.

Yes! That grin after a nap. No one has ever been so happy to see me.

i love the hugs we get. she holds on so tight, she's like a little monkey. i also love when my two play together. my younger dd loves playing peekaboo with the older dd when i'm holding her. my older dd pops up from behind me and the little one giggles so loud... it's too cute.

My baby caresses me while nursing. She'll also kiss me if I kiss her cheek, and has even been known to grab my face and kiss me. When I walk into a room she gives me the biggest grin, and appears to know the word "mama," in that she uses it in context consistently.
