I think these mattresses are great. We don't use a crib, but we use their bigger mattresses. Also, I think the DAX superstore has good deals on organic mattresses.
Sears even has one, but it's more expensive than the Savvyrest, and the Savvyrest people are super helpful.

This is the link I meant to post, but I also found some cheaper ones at the Natural Sleep Store. They also have great customer service.

Safety
Depending upon the age of the baby a snug fit between the mattress and the crib rails is really important, to prevent the baby from slippin in between and suffocating.I forget exactly how snug it has to be (maybe an inch or so of wiggle room?) but you may be able to find a free Consumer Reports article online.
If you don't have the crib yet and you are buying in a bricks and mortar store you can put the mattress in the crib to test it.
I'm not quite sure what you do if you already have the crib or if you are buying online.

LA Baby! They have organic options if you want, they're reasonably priced, they're made in USA and ours (non-organic) didn't need to be aired out (no off-gassing fumes) first.

Costco's website has some great prices on natural mattresses.
Here's the one I registered for:

We really like ours from Moonlight Slumber (http://www.moonlightslumber.com). Now we're looking for a more affordable one to move our toddler to (and give the new baby the Moonlight Slumber one), so I'm interested in this thread! We've looked at the organic spring mattress from Target, but I really love the feeling of the foam one she currently has.
