What is going on?

Please help! My son is almost 6 months old and his sleeping schedule is the worst it has ever been. Including when he was a newborn! Our nights start out with him in the cradle next to my bed until he first wakes up. Then I bring him into bed with me for the rest of the night. On a good night he will sleep in his cradle for a few hours. Once he is in bed with me he is up almost every hour. Around 4 am he will play for 2-3 hours! Then he crashes but I have to get up with my DD. We also use a pacifier (my BB can't handle being attached to all night). Any advise/thoughts would be great!

Is he learning to sit up or crawl?
That KILLS "good" sleep.
This too shall pass....

I know that with time it will get better. I just would like some help on speeding up the process! His sister was the same way but it was over a year until she was able to sleep throughout most of the night
Also, we have tried swaddling and it doesn't work.
Thank you for the encouragement!
