crolup cough in a 6 month old

our 6 month old has had croup for about 10 days. we took him to the doctor on the 2nd day. a day or so later his cough and congestion improved but it has lingered. he coughs when he wakes up and when he is on his back. he only coughs a couple of times and it sounds as if he is trying to clear ou t the congestion. his cough has improved but i am concerned bec. it hasn t totaly gone away...is this common?

If it's a phlegmy sounding cough you might find some chest percussion helps clear the lobes.

The cough can linger for a short while but if you are at all concerned I'd give the dr a call.
