need to vent!!!!

My wonderful son has been replaced with this ornery temper tantrum throwing, hitting, yelling and screaming alien! I don't know what to do! I thought it could be teething but I gave him his teething tablets and they're not doing anything! I'm so at the end of my rope! He has always been a really good eater (I mean really good) now he won't eat anything! He gets grumpy when he's hungry but he won't eat anything other than cheerios and fruit! The fruit is great but we usually follow a gluten free diet. The only reason I'm allowing him to have the cheerios is so he doesn't get horrible diarrhia. I wonder if he might have a uti because his urethra looks red and his diapers smell really ammoniay. I gave him a big sippy cup of cranberry juice but so far it hasn't done much (to be fair I only gave him that about and hour ago) I think I should call the doctor but it's Saturday night and it's not an emergency, but I'm just at the end of my rope! My husband is sick so he isn't able to help much right now! trying to stay happy bec/ me being upset only makes his mood worse but o my gosh! We've been having a really hard time lately too, we have lost our house and moved in with my parents, we've both been having health issues, ds was in the hospital for 4 days in the burn unit from chemical burns on his butt and privates from bg deoderizer spray that my sister in law didn't understand went on after he wore the diaper not before. I'm not really sure how much more I can take!!!

If you think he has a UTI, you should call the doctor. UTIs can spread to the kidneys pretty quickly. I'm sorry your baby is sick! I hope you BOTH feel better soon (and your dh, of course).

Thanks, we did take him to the doctor today (after hours clinic) and he doesn't have a uti they think he has an infection in his throat. So we got some antibiotics and hopefully I should have a much better baby in the next 24 hours! Wish us luck!

Sorry mama! Hopefully this is a stage that will pass! we are living with my parents too and I know how hard it can be. Thank God for their kindness but I feel like such a parasite sometimes. Plus different philosophies of parenting, and they don't believe in childproofing their house....

It might be a UTI, or it might just be how your baby is as a toddler.

DS was the most easy going baby, and early toddler. Then he turned two and WOW can he pitch a fit! lol

I know it's hard, but your LO has been going through a lot lately too, and it's likely that he's acting out in response to the confusion in his life. Lots of love and cuddles where you can, and space to allow him to be angry when you can't. Hang in there! (It's a good thing they are cute at this age, huh?)
