Water broke, no contractions

Hi ladies, so woke up thinking I tinkled or leaked a little urine till I got the
big gush. Been losing water every since. Fluid is clear except for the vernix.
Baby moving fine. But, not a single contraction. Now here I am*
Well 16 hrs down only a few measley contractions after nipple stimulation, birth*ball rocking, and walking a mile. Soaked two adult diapers with all the gushing fluid*though. Fluid still clear temp normal. 40 weeks and 2 days today. Midwife says
we will just wait and I'm fine with that but getting discouraged. Did I mention
baby has been posterior forever. Lots of hands and knees relaxing today too but
doesn't seem to do anything he is really high. It's just a waiting game now but I feel so rushed to get things started. Probably just because I know if I were under O.B. Care I'd have been on the pit drip long ago lol. Birth pool set up, supplies laid out, nothing left to do but get contractions lol.*

That happened to me last time! It took from 7pm one evening until 11:15 the next night to actually have a contraction, but all that time I was just dilating along & the labor from that first contraction lasted a grand total of 45 minutes! LOL! Be patient As long as your hydrating yourself adequately & not running a temp & not sticking anything up there, baby will eventually...umm...fall out!

Good luck!!! I hate feeling like I'm peeing myself, too! I'm due any day now with #4 & have adult diapers stocked up since all three of my previous labors started with gushing for hours...maybe by now you'll have stopped that & will be working on pushing that baby out, though!

Great to hear your story. It's nice to here a birth story where water was broke more than 12 hrs and doesn't end with mom with a pit drip or c-section. Gives me hope. Trying not to stress it. 17 hrs now but still doing good very hydrated rested and just waiting.

Ha, just found my old thread!!!  I guess it would have been nice if I had came back to update after having him huh, lol.  Water had been broken for 36 hours before contractions started but when they started, they came in a 2 mins apart, and within 10-15 mins, I couldn't walk through them.  10 more mins, couldn't talk through them.  Midwife made it, pool was amazing!!!  2 hours of contractions total and two pushes all 8 lbs 4 oz of him arrived so fast that he just shot out behind me (I was in pool kneeling kinda leaning over the side) like a rocket so fast that midwife missed him and had to reach back in and scoop him up.  Due in about 3-4 weeks with this one and hoping for just as few contractions, lol.  Hope I am not stuck wearing a diaper for 2 days again though.  Id like water to stay intact until transition if I could have my way :)

Glad everything went well!!

We have similar birth stories though(I did land birth though). With my first birth(2006) water broke with no contractions until 46 hours, then they started 2 mins apart. Labor took 2 hours. My 2nd birth(2009) water broke for 60 hours though before labor( 5 1/2 labor but still easy). With my 3rd(2011) I took Vit. C to help water bag..I guess it worked as my waters kept intact until pushing stage but it was the weirdest nonconsistant birth I ever had(contractions would go from hard to soft to inbetween, the level of pain was all over never got the 2 mins apart thing before pushing stage at one point we though labor had stopped) it total 4 hours...I actually preferred my water breaking first.

I know what you mean about the diaper. I had to use the same cloth diapers I had bought for the baby...
