Water broke 16 hrs ago no labor yet

Hi ladies, so woke up thinking I tinkled or leaked a little urine till I got the
big gush. Been losing water every since. Fluid is clear except for the vernix.
Baby moving fine. But, not a single contraction. Now here I am*
Well 16 hrs down only a few measley contractions after nipple stimulation, birth*ball rocking, and walking a mile. Soaked two adult diapers with all the gushing fluid*though. Fluid still clear temp normal. 40 weeks and 2 days today. Midwife says
we will just wait and I'm fine with that but getting discouraged. Did I mention
baby has been posterior forever. Lots of hands and knees relaxing today too but
doesn't seem to do anything he is really high. It's just a waiting game now but I feel so rushed to get things started. Probably just because I know if I were under O.B. Care I'd have been on the pit drip long ago lol. Birth pool set up, supplies laid out, nothing left to do but get contractions lol.*

I went through the same thing with Dd2. I did get discouraged the night before she was born and broke down in tears and screamed. I'm glad I had patient midwives. They went home to get some rest after the nipple stimulation contractions petered out. I went to sleep and got some rest. I went into labor 36 hours after my water broke and had an easy four hour labor.

Be patient and Happy birthing!

You are doing the right things, especially hands and knees to get the baby turned around. That's probably what is holding things up.As soon as his head gets firmly on the cervix(anterior positioning) labor will probably kick in. I am sure you will do fine, try to rest as much as you can and listen to your midwife's suggestions...

How're things going? Hopefully you're holding your baby already!

Just wanted to say to keep an eye on positioning and do everything you can to get babe into a good position. My water broke (but then re-sealed, so more a leak than a break, IYKWIM) 5 days before I actually went into labour, but DD was both posterior and asynclitic, so it was a really difficult labour. I didn't realise there was a positioning problem as my MW was useless, so never tried anything to reposition babe, and ended up with a hospital transfer. Not trying to be a downer, but I wish someone had told me that PROM was often associated with positioning problems - I would have been able to be much more proactive about trying different positions, movements etc.

Anyway, good labour vibes and healthy baby vibes coming your way
