Wool breast pads. . .thoughts?

Hi. Wool breast/nursing pads were recommended to me and I wanted to see if anyone had good experience with them before I shelled out the $ (they are pricey!).
I have had some trouble with plugged ducts and it was mentioned to me that wool pads may help with this. Also I know they are more breathable than anything else and the natural lanolin in them is good for the nips. And I have had some issues with vasospasms and wool is supposedly good for this too.

I do hate scratchy wool sweaters etc., but I have been told that high quality wool isn't scratchy/itchy.

Anyone use wool pads and love them or hate them? Are they worth the money?

This is the website I am looking at if any one is interested: http://www.danishwool.com/products/nursing_mothers.html

Wow those are expen$ive! I have a pair of Imse Vimse nursing pads that are silk on one side and wool on the other side (out). They rock! Though they're not for heavy leakers...

Just make sure your nipples are allergic to wool before purchasing!

Washing wool diaper covers and touching them doesn't bother my skin at all, but wool or lanolin against my nipples causes them to get flaming red and burn/itch like crazy!

Yes!

The Danish wool ones are by far the softest and the most helpful in preventing clogged ducts due to thier wearability, but Organic Caboose makes a close second wool pair that are much cheaper and become softer with wear. Love, Love Love wool nursing pads.

I was going to say the same thing! With my first, I got cracked nipples and everyone suggested lansinoh. I coudn't figure out why my nipples were not just cracked afterwards, but itchy adn hivey! So test yourself out before investing in wool!

I started with wool ones and didn't mind how they felt-- they weren't itchy. But I leaked so much in the beginning that I'd soak through them in minutes sometimes. This also meant I had to wash them more frequently, so I started using disposables as back up b/c my wool ones were always drying.... and then they turned funky colors, so I tossed them and just used disposables.

Long and the short is: I'm not sure they were worth the money.

The leaking eventually gets less (for most) if that makes you feel any better.

I was soaking entire fronts of shirts every hour for the first 4 months, now I have only had about 2 mystery leaks in the past almost 5 months.
