13 mo grinds her teeth all the time

the title pretty much says it all...she grinds her teeth constantly - should I be worried or could this signify a problem, or is it just a normal annoyance?

My 21-mo has gone through 2 of those stages, and it lasted a few days each time. If I tried to get her to stop, she seemed to focus on it even more, so I decided to ignore it, and she stopped on her own. Not sure if it was stress/frustration-related, or anything like that...

I would definitely increase her calcium and magnesium intake. A tea made of nettles and horsetail would be a good way to go.

Oh, and some chamomile or lemon balm tea would be a great addition too. This would help with any tension she is feeling from a growth spurt or other life integrations.

I agree with upping the calcium-magnesium. Magnesium is easy to get with Epsom salt baths.

Is she teething? DD went through a couple of periods of teeth grinding when she was getting her teeth. It drove us crazy but we ignored it and eventually it stopped. From what I understand at this age it is pretty normal to grind their teeth b/c they enjoy the sensation but they eventually grow out of it - they get used to having teeth and the novelty wears off.

Good luck!
