Thread for Montessori homeschoolers

I don't know how many of us are around here, but I was wondering if there was any interest in an ongoing thread dedicated to Montessori in the home?

I have a 2.5 year old DD who we can't afford to send to Montessori. I've done the NAMC online training for 3-6, and we plan to homeschool DD in a Montessori/eclectic manner. We're starting a little early because we'll have a newborn when DD turns 3, and I'd like to have her into a routine of school before he arrives.

Right now we're working with a lot of homemade stuff -- mostly practical life and printables (I love Montessori for Everyone!). But we've recently been given an incredibly generous gift of many of the basic materials for a primary classroom, so now I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival and planning all sorts of things that seemed out of reach before.

Anyone else out there?

I'm considering doing montessori for our 4 year old, but later this year. How much was the namc training, and can you provide a link?

C'mon over to the thread in the Montessori section! That one got more activity than this one, and I explained a bit about the NAMC training.

i'm a waldorf homeschooler but i do add a lot of montessori manipulative to my homeschooling so i'm gonna sub and throw in a little artisty hippie thought into the bunch.

Can you give a link for this NAMC you did? there is a waldorf teacher training i've been saving up for but i'm always on the lookout for good continuing ed for myself.

This is the NAMC training: http://www.montessoritraining.net. I have a bit more detail about it over in the Montessori homeschooling thread in the Montessori area. In general, I wasn't impressed with the certification, although the manuals are really nice.
