i have always wanted to hs but circumstances have always prevented it. now my children are getting older (9, 11 and 14 yr old dss) and im not sure if its too late. my 9 year old wants to be hs'ed, but im afraid hes too smart for me to hs. he gets mostly a's in school and i dont know a thing about 3/4th curiculum or hs'ing or making sure he learns what he needs to know. my 11 yr old will be going into jr high and that seems way late to hs. also, my kids would stay inside all the time and never go seek out friends, but they have friends at school. i just had a baby in oct and have barely been out of the house without dh because im still learning to manage a baby and toddler on my own. so i worry that i would be able to get them out to meet other kids or classes, etc (ds2 wants to play guitar) i have no idea if my dss would want to hs, but he will be starting high school. also my 2 year old is very spirited and im afraid he may interfere with things. i have looked into hs and there is a charter school that looks great, but you have to pick your own ciriculum (something i have no idea about). anyway, i guess i would just like some opinions and guidance from moms that have more experience with hs. thanks!
