I also need to do a hysterosalpingogram (HSG)... which means I go to a hospital, they inject something into my uterus and push it up the fallopian tubes to see if they're blocked. And the nurse said flat-out "this is the most uncomfortable procedure here, so anything you have done after will be easier than this." I've dealt with some really horrid cramping before, but even DH was uncomfortable listening to this one... it sounds really terribly uncomfortable. So I'm hoping we can postpone it a bit and maybe see if I ovulate this cycle and we can try again; maybe we can get pregnant before we need to do it. On the bright side, though, I'll get the day off work that day...

Oh dear! I am

that you won't need that done. Here's to hoping you'll be too busy being pregnant to have your tubes "powerwashed."

I'm going to hang out. I love you guys way too much to vanish. I think I would like to hang out in "waiting to be ready"....it'll be about 9 months though...but I will be popping my head in every once in awhile.

We love you, too. You definitely have to hang. And I think you are making the right decision for your family.

The most pregnant I could possibly be at that time, by my calculations, is 16/17 weeks. It would be a lovely "problem" to have, but my question is... do you think I'll have a problem if I do get pregnant this month? The overlayer of chiffon has a lot of flowy-ness and room for expansion in the midsection, esp. because of the gathered empire waist, but the under part is very fittend (hence me ordering a size up from my current measurements). I suppose I could always alter it by sewing closest-match-possible teal elastic panels in the seams of the midsection if I really needed to? ...
Anyone have experience being pregnant, but wearing a non-maternity style gown?

LOVE that dress. Despite the fitted underbits, the fact that it is empire (and I pronounce it AHM-PEER because I'm so classy) waist gives you a little wiggle anyway. It's good you got it one size up, just to be safe, but I bet you will still need it altered down even though you WILL be pregnant. And let's say you start showing the minute you conceive (i.e. sometime in the next 24 hours): even if you are too big for the larger size, that chiffon overlayer will be your friend. It'll make it easier for them to add a panel to the underlayer and have the panel hidden. Make sense? My friend was about 16 weeks in her brother's wedding and did not need a bigger size. The dress was made very much the same.
I wore A LOT of dresses, mostly empire waist, that were not maternity when I was pg. I couldn't find any maternity dresses I liked (and the ones I did like were $60 bucks - um, no), so I just bought regular dresses a size up. I had a big belly since I have no torso, but I remained in my extra small scrub pants and scrub shirts until about 28 weeks. It depends on how you carry, too.

I think we're going to give this cycle a chance before trying that. It scares me a bit. I don't think my problem is a blocked tube because I'm not ovulating regularly, that's more of an obvious issue, but I understand that they want to make sure a blocked tube isn't an issue before trying other things. So we'll see. *sigh*

We've had our kid's names picked out for years. I had David's name picked out since I was 7, when I saw Labyrinth (he is named after David Bowie).

Good luck this cycle, Miriam!

Yesterday at the RE's office they had to take five vials of blood, so I made the girl doing it tell me about her wedding from 2000. I don't even care if they make it all up, lol!

Me too! I watch the shows, though, because I love seeing the dresses and flowers. Conversely, I hate shows like Platinum Weddings because seeing THAT much money spent on linens and matching toe rings really chaps my hide. Wanna hear pathetic? My BFF and I just went to a wedding show this past weekend. I'm married and she isn't engaged. We just wanted to see the dress fashion shows and the like. Hee hee.
Good luck and positive vibes to everybody!
AFMHorrible sleep last night so I don't know how it affected my temp, but that number is just so pretty. Have the occasional wave of nausea and dizziness. The boobs hurt, but that's nothing new. I do have a full feeling down in uterineland and some twinges here and there. I have a few more days to test.
A few weeks ago, I called to make a dental appointment for a filling. The appointment is tomorrow. I've been back and forth about it because I'm in the TWW and was worried about the novzcaine, though I know they give a shorter-acting and epinephrine-free novacaine to pregnant folk. They called to confirm my appointment today and the girl said I was scheduled for a cleaning and not a filling, so no drugs. Normally, I would be ticked that they made a mistake because these teeth need to be filled ASAP, but I'm kinda glad because at least I won't have to worry about it when I don't even know if I'm preggo.
