It looks like your lo is fairly new. I think most mamas tend to leak more in the beginning. I know I did. Some continue to be leaky the whole time they nurse, and some barely leak at all after a few months. There is such a thing as oversupply, you may want to talk to a lac. consultant or an LLL leader and see what they think. Overactive letdown (squirting too much milk too fast for the baby to handle) is a separate problem from oversupply. For that, you can let the baby nurse until the letdown comes, or babe pops off sputtering, and catch the milk in a cup or prefold diaper for a minute until things slow down enough to latch baby back on. Or, you could pump a little off the top before you start nursing. HTH

I second the diaper on the breast if you are at home! For the first two weeks or so, I actually would spray pretty far and not just leak. I am planning on trying these with DD #2 to try and save some of the leaked milk.

While you are nursing, press on the opposite nipple firmly...it will stop the flow. I have my 6 week old with me at work every day and this is the only way I'm not working with two wet circles over my boobs!!
I seem to recall not needing breast pads after about 3 or 4 months, so it levels off eventually!

I called my breasts "fountains" and "squirt guns." Just keep tons of towels on hand. I still breastfeed with a small towel now at 6 months, but my supply has basically evened out. It was crazy for the first 3-4 months. My little guy would choke on the milk all the time, but he got used to it. He still chokes a lot, but he keeps right on going. In the beginning he would quit after he choked, but not now. I do still wear pads, but it's only for small leaks, not the couple pounder soaked disposables. Wow those things could hold some liquid.
