For a close friend yes, but for someone more casual it would depend.

Absolutely!

The only reason I can think not to are if a) I ddn't want to go or b) if I had a situation like a special needs child who does better keeping to their routine.

As both a parent and former preschool teacher, I say yes. Any preschool that would have a problem with it, wouldn't be a school I would want my kids to attend.
