Oh boy, toddler poop question

Well, I've just about had it with the runny poo, so I thought I'd post and get some feedback. DS is 25 months and has had runny or peanut-buttery poos for a weeks. He's been drinking cow milk for eight months or so and the runny poos weren't a problem until several weeks ago, so I don't know that it's a dairy thing. Even so, I took him off dairy for 3 days and saw no improvement.

He's definitely cutting his 2-year molars: his bottom ones have partially popped through and his uppers aren't in yet. I've heard runny poos can be associated with that. He seems healthy and happy in most other ways except that he's more irritable, has a bit of trouble sleeping and may be giving up naps. Any of these things could be teeth, or it could just be a big growing phase.

What do you think?

My toddlers definitely got runny, super stinky poops when they were cutting teeth.

Have you introduced any other foods lately? I would say that if the runny poops continue once the molars have come in, then you need to look at diet again.

teething caused horrible poo here too.

have you tried a round of probiotics?

Also, is the cold weather giving him a runny nose at all?

Haven't introduced any new foods, he IS getting over a cold, but he's had the poops much longer, and we do daily probiotics.

I'm so happy to hear that others have runny poo/teething connections. The word from the "experts" nowadays is teething doesn't cause diarrhea, but you ask ANY parent or grandparent and you get a different story. Sigh.

Thanks everyone!

My 16 month old is getting some molars and he's been having really stinky, mushy poops the last few days. I wasn't sure whether to attribute it to teething or eating too many veggies. So of course, daycare thinks its a stomach bug and now he has to stay home even though he's fine.
