Bed sharing is bliss;waking up is a nightmare???

This may sound crazy, and maybe it is a stage for my strong willed, almost two year old DD, but I am at my wits end. We recently night weaned and are sleeping better than we ever have. Some nights she doesn't wake up at all! We snuggle and I think it is great.

The way she wakes up, however, is driving me nuts! She wakes up very quickly and is immediately whining and pushing on me: nummies, nummies, potty, eat, seasame street, nummies, mama!!!!!! If I don't respond quickly enough for her she is kicking, scratching, starting to throw fits. I hate starting my days crabby and irritated before I have been awake ten minutes. Seriously, I am cranky before getting out of bed.

Is it just her strong personality and knowing what she wants? Is there a better way to handle this--I try to let her know that I understand what she is saying or asking for, but that some of these things are not going to happen right now. I feel like I haven't had time to wake up and am not dealing with this as good as I should.

Can you create a routine that there is a cup of water for her to drink when she wakes up (in the bathroom or something) and talk about it in the daytime that when she wakes up it's her job to drink her water THEN come to talk to you nicely with ONE request? That way you get a warning that she's up when she gets herself a drink of water?

Either way whatever you choose - talk about it in the daytime, play act it with her teddy bears, draw a picture/story of what you want all while she is awake.

same thing here at wake up, except we haven't nightweaned (YET) so it's preceded by an hour of restless nursing. then: "go inside baby's house! go inside house!"

he's 23 months.

he seriously goes from real sleep to real active in 10 seconds.

LOL! I hear you--I haven't even gotten my eyes open and I am being bombarded. It is probably just me being so sleepy still that I losing sight of the fact that it is a toddler I am dealing with.
