That you can go from nursing just once a day (at bedtime) to 5-6 times a day now that I've got colostrum coming in for the new babe?
DD is 21 months, and I thought she might wean by the time the new babe arrives in March, as she was only nursing once a day for the last 6 months. But this last week, I'm pretty sure my milk has started coming back and I can't get over how much she is asking to nurse. I'm feeling sort of confused about it myself, as I had gotten used to our bedtime nursing and was happy with not nursing the rest of the day, but cherished the time we did have together in the evenings. I"m finding myself a bit resentful as my boobs/nipples are so painful with the sudden increase in usage
and general sensitivity from pregnancy. I'm also finding that it's taking up so much more time, she'll nurse for 20 minutes a side if I let her.
I'm wondering if she is sensing that babe is coming, in addition to the new milk coming in, and on top of that she is teething too. We had a groove going and now things have changed a lot, I ended work at Xmas, DD has stopped going to her dayhome, another big change is coming too (new baby) and I'm just feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do.
I wasn't really planning to tandem and thought DD would wean on her own, or at least stay at her once-a-day session, but now I don't know. I can't bring myself to limit her, but can't imagine nursing a newborn (constantly!) AND a toddler (4-6 times a day). I'm scared
