I guess the title says it all. DS (20mos) has been in his own bed since 14 months. While he LOVES LOVES LOVES to snuggle up, it just wasn't working. He is too light a sleeper. He'd sleep all smooshed up against me, all peaceful and snuggly... until I dared to move to try to get comfortable (I CANNOT sleep through a nursing and CANNOT sleep in the side-lying-nursing position. Don't know why, I just can't). Then he'd wake up and we'd nurse back to sleep, he'd snuggle up, I'd try to get comfortable so I could go back to sleep... Lather rinse repeat. He was tired and cranky, I was tired and cranky...
ANNNNNNYWAY... yeah. We moved him into his own room, and slowly but surely things improved. He now generally sleeps through from 9pm until 5am-ish, at which point he joins us in bed until waking up for good around 7 or a little earlier.
We've been on vacation for the last month, visiting family, and have been cosleeping to some degree or another every night (either sharing a bed or he's been on a mattress on the floor), and he has come to enjoy the snuggling again.
He really, really, really likes sleeping with me. He's been crawling into my bed earlier and earlier every morning. It really, really, really doesn't work. I'm going to feel like a bad mama all over again, putting him back in his own room.
I know I'm meeting his needs (he's so much happier when he's getting a decent amount of sleep), but it just kind of sucks.
