how can i change my child's sleep schedule?

I figured I'd get some experienced parents weighing in if I posted here rather than life with a babe, but plz move if I'm wrong.

My 8 month old used to go to bed around 8:30, but after a particularly bad bout of teething, it's now around 2am. Im going insane. With her going to bed solate I'm exhausted and am getting nothing done around the house and i miss the "me time" I used to get in the evenings.

The last 3 nights I've gone to bed with her at 830 hoping that nursing in the dark would put her to sleep, but after 3 or 4 hours of "fighting" with her, we're both upset and frustrated. I've tried waking her up early so she's tired at night, but it just makes her cranky all day, and she's not a napper (im lucky if I get 1 30 min nap a day out of her)

Please help me change her sleep schedule. For all of our sanity.

When my 9 mo old dd won't nurse down--and we're talking 9-ish usually--I go to bed with the 5 yo and put dh on baby-duty. In general, by walking her around and singing to her, he has her in bed with us--asleep!--by about 10:30 or 11 PM.

Occasionally, he'll put her down in the portable crib, in which case she comes to bed with us when she wakes for a snack around 1 or 1:30.

So I guess my advice is to say that if you have a partner/husband in the picture, see if you can enlist some help.

Subbing. My 15 month old won't sleep until 1 or 2 either and I'm pregnant so I need my sleep! My husband takes him at night but he won't go to sleep without me. I tried the same as you-getting him up earlier but listening to him cry and scream for 30 min isn't fun. I hope you get some good answers!
