Dreaming about your baby.

I just had a dream that I met my baby.

In the dream I woke up and right next to me was a wiggling baby. My first thought was, "Oh my god I haven't fed you in a while!" So I immediately put the baby to my breast and he (IT WAS A HE!) started to eat right away. (I really hope its that easy when the time comes.) He ate for a while and then I bundled him up and we slept together.

The next day, I woke up and changed his diaper (which took forever for some reason) and we got him ready to go see grandparents. I knew it was a dream then because we didn't have the badass car seat that I wanted, but still, I was enjoying my baby. He smiled at me as I was putting him in the car.

I melted. And then I woke up.

So two things, did you ever dream about your baby when you were pregnant? If so, tell me if you can remember what it was.

And if you dreamed about the gender before you knew what it was, was the dream correct?

I don't dream about my baby, but my husband does and he reports having very vivid dreams about a girl... I'll let you know if he is right in a week or two.

I think its a good sign to dream about your baby though... like its a part of the connection. Especially early, somehow it just seems like a sticky sign to me.

Congrats!!!

I've had a few of the "standard" new mum dreams, ie going to a party and forgetting the baby, that kind of thing, but more often (last night for example) I've had dreams about having the cutest little baby girl. Everyone comments on how perfect she is, how angelic, and she really is. But then she opens her mouth and talks. And out comes a string of curse words and rudeness, and I'm so embarrassed. My husband swears a lot. I suspect he'll stop once his child arrives, but I must be feeling somewhat anxious about it. I refuse to nag him about it, but I have told him about the dreams. They're really pretty funny, once I get over the mortification.

i had many dreams about my children before having them... i distinctly remember always dreaming about a little blonde boy... ever since I was little... and having a lot more dreams about him now that I am pregnant. My first two were born with pitch black hair (like my own and their fathers) but my df, this ones father, is blonde... and from what I have seen with their family, the blonde is a very strong gene.

So this is my little Alexander!

with my first i always dreamed she was a boy named Evan and I was moving to PEI!
obviously it wasn't true, as I have a girl and i didn't move

This time early on I dreamt I was having a girl several times, she's a couple months old in my dream with dark hair (DD is very blond, her dad and I have dark hair) and she`s very cute and quiet. I found out a few weeks after the last dream that I am, infact, having another girl! I`ll know in a few months if she`s going to have dark hair or not

I've dreamed of each of my babies before birth.
My littlest dd is 2 now but about 3 months before she was conceived through iui, I dreamed I gave birth to an incredibly fuzzy, baby girl with a ton of hair and she had huge black eyes~ in my dream I felt an intense sense of relief and said 'oh its you' and then woke. My mom was visiting and I told her of my dream immed. and she just smiled.
Fast forward 1 year~ at her birth I lifetd her her to me and there she was fuzzy, tons of black hair, wide black eyes~ a girl! She looked at me and I said 'oh its you' and though I had thought of the dream throughout my pg as a positive focus after my lost pgs and tremendous worries I forgot about saying that until she was in my arms and as I said it -it was the most intense deja-vu feeling. What a relief!!!
Also~ I knew her name from the dream~ she didn't tell me, I just knew what it was. Of course that is what I named her.
I've dreamed of this baby~ a boy, little brown hair at the back~ very long body, born in the caul! I don't know if it's the dream or not yet though I knew his name then too. I'll let you know . I missed him once I woke .

In the first trimester before we could possibly know the gender, I had repeated lucid dreams that I met my baby and she was a girl (and at 20 weeks we found out it is a girl). She told me her name was Daphne in the first dream. Her personality was very distinct; witty sense of humor, bright eyes, full of laughter.

In my second dream about her, she told me her name was Star. I had gone to bed thinking about how we are all made of star matter from the big bang. In this dream, Star showed me just how much a human could love another. I have never been so full of love for anyone. My capacity was endless..

All other dreams she is a girl. I just knew it from the beginning, even though at first I really REALLY wanted a boy. By the first time I met little Daphne Star though, I found myself thrilled to be having a girl.

Dreaming about my baby is the sweetest most wonderful thing I can imagine doing at night.

Me, husband, and my sister all had dreams with my baby in them and he was a boy in all three...and yes, he ended up being a boy. Now, it's kinda common for me and dh to have dreams with our baby in them. But it's nothing too specific. I don't remember any facial features or anything like that, but I always love when I have them.

I had one very vivid dream with each of my boys, before I had the u/s to know for sure. In each dream, they looked EXACTLY like they did when they were born. It was really interesting. I haven't had "the dream" with this baby yet, trying to be patient!

I dreamed of DD before she was born but after I knew her gender. I was in the hospital right after having her, holding her. The light was shining in the window, and it was early morning and felt very peaceful. I looked down at her and she was big (like not a newborn, more like a 4 month old..lol). She had these HUGE blue crystle looking eyes, and blond hair. She smiled at me and sort of talked to me (but not with words, with her mind).

She ended up being born early in the morning. It was about 6:30am, right in time for the sunrise and breakfast in bed.
She had really dark hair, and she was tiny, so I though most of my dream was wrong. But it ended up being a prediction of the future because by 4 months she was the chunkiest, wide eyed, blond haired cutie I'd ever met. We constantly get comments on her HUGE blue eyes.

No real dreams with this one yet. Eagerly awaiting them.

I just had a dream that I was holding my newborn a few days after the birth. I realized that I hadn't yet bothered to see if my little one was a boy or a girl! In the dream, my baby was a girl. DH and I are waiting until the birth to find out, so I won't know until July. Either way, though, it was a wonderful dream.
