wknd away at 21 mths - to wean or not?

I will be leaving my then 21 month old for 3/4 nights. I had been thinking that I would work towards weaning her so that the disappearance of mummy & boobs all in one go wasn't too difficult for her. But now I'm wondering if I'm wrong about that. I would love to hear thoughts & experiences of leaving them at this age.

Before anyone asks, she will be with her father, for whom she naps, goes to bed, resettles in the night etc & who she is used to spending lots of time with.

We left DD for a weekend when she was 22 months, at that point she was a boob-aholic (still is). From what my MIL said she did fine without it, which she usually does fine as long as I'm not around. If I am around she wants to nurse, but if it's not available she doesn't seem to care.
My biggest warning would be for you. Depending on what your plans are after you return, be prepared to either be engorged or to pump. I figured that I wasn't producing that much milk anymore and would be fine with some slight engorgement, boy was I wrong, I was miserable the whole weekend and really wish I would have taken my pump.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
