my dd and i really connect with watching movies. dd 7 and i watch a lot of movies together.

last year because of lack of babysitter i took dd to see 'bright star' with me and she loved, loved the movie. i still dont get really what she loved about the movie but she got interested in Keats poetry after that.

then we went to see 'young victoria'. woah she loved that too. it was a v. well made film and she seems to enjoy movies from those times.

so do you know any period pieces she might be interested in? rather that might be appropriate for her.

Princess Caraboo! Based on a real-life story about a young woman who showed up out of nowhere in Edwardian (I think) England and claimed to be a foreign princess. Also, Photographing Fairies.

My daughter also likes old adventure movies -- Errol Flynn's Robin Hood, various swashbucklers, things like that.

It’s not a thriller and it’s not exactly a suspence film, however I watched a film call “Rain man” today, and it truely is a great film. It’s the type of film that gets you thinking. I really recommend it.

Thanks.

I just watched Bright Star and loved it. What about Pride and Prejudice? The new one.

And if she likes that, then try Pride and Prejudice the BBC version with Colin Firth.

What about Emma ( 1996 with Gwyneth Paltrow) and Sense and Sensibility ( 1995, Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet)?
