Pockets for Newborn

Which pockets do you like best for a newborn? What actually contains that runny bf poo?

With my son, I used prefolds and fitted during the newborn stage but decided later that I am really a pocket mama. I hate the bulk with anything else when we are out and about in real clothes. Not to say I won't have a stash of prefolds, too, but I really want to get at least a dozen pockets for this next yet-to-be-conceived babe.

What do you recommend? Action pics would be welcomed, too.

I had bumgenius 3.0, haute, & knickernappies from ds when dd was born. we used them starting at 2 wks & they all worked great! She was 7lbs 11 oz @ birth. We had maybe 1 blowout the entire time she was ebf.

The only pocket I've used that didn't leak and wasn't huge is the BabyKicks Organic Fitted. Fits like a DREAM. Fits both babes and haven't had a leak yet and it can also be used as a training pant; it's like super diaper

Congrats!

I actually really liked the XS FuzziBunz on my newborns. Pretty trim (wider than some but not bulky, if that makes sense), soft, and worked really well. I am not entirely sure if they still make them (at some point they stopped, then were available again, and now..?), but it's worth looking into, I think. Otherwise we liked Swaddlebees pockets, too, but I don't recall now if they have an XS size.

Our entire stash is Rumparooz. Never, ever have had a blowout with poo. The Rumparooz have a double leg gusset, sometimes when DS has a huge poo, it will leak past the first one, but its never made it past that second! I think we have had 2 or 3 pee leaks... DS is 7 weeks.

I didnt use them the first week, I was afraid the would irritate his cord, we waited until it fell off and used disposables (horrid!!)

I have a picture of 1 week old DS in his first cloth diaper, if you want to see how they fit on a newborn, but I'm unsure of how to post a picture in this forum? I'd be more than happy to post if someone can direct me?

We used Knickernappies and Fuzzi Bunz (smalls) during the newborn stage and loved them. The Knickernappies seemed a bit smaller, IMO, but the Fuzzi Bunz had a better fit (for my son who had a big belly, and no butt!) Both worked fine, though. I started with smalls because I always have big babies (the smallest being over 8 pounds!)

I've been really happy with the Thirsties Duo Diaper so far. I'm on the size 2 right now for both my boys, and didn't get them until ds2 was already out of the size one, but he's still ebf and it holds things in great.

I've found that BG 2.0s and 2.0s fit after about a month. The first month we've used sposies for convenience and also till they grow enough

I like blueberry sized pockets for nb or the blueberry mini nappy which is for 8-15 lbs are AWESOME, b/c one sized pockets are huge on NBs.
