Waldorf homeschooling with a larger family

I noticed a lot of Waldorf homeschoolers have younger or small families. Our family consists of Grade 7, 4, 1 and a baby.

I just don't have a lot of time to give to each child separately. I'm an introvert as well, so I can't give and give and give. Is there anyone in my shoes that wants to share or talk about integrated Waldorf into your lives within these circumstances?

I think I am in the younger children group you talked about. I have a 10 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old, and one coming this May. We are also not strictly waldorf but waldorf inspired and using oak meadow with the oldest after years of me doing it on my own. I found with oak meadow I have less planning, more doing and it helps. With the youngers I try and have active time and learning times and in between everything I make sure to get some time for myself, such as jumping online quiet in my room while the three children play together. I thankfully can trust my oldest to watch them with me a room away for a few minutes. Add in hand work and arts, fairly quiet times for me and we do well. I can set the kids up coloring and do something focused with them like a color story and then when we are done, they all color while I go get a much needed break!

I try and remember that homeschooling for us is not school at home. We do not have to keep the same hours as a public school and do not need the same amount of time to learn the same things.

I read once that we should go into a lesson with joyful sure energy and if we can't do that then we need to find a way to get to that place before trying to teach. So my solution is to take many small breaks with a moment to myself!

Not sure if any of this helps! I have no idea what our days will look like with #4 and so I will be following this thread for tips from others!
