Do you think a sudden increase in nursing could trigger nausea?

My 18-month-old daughter is sick and teething, and thus she nursed almost constantly this past weekend. I am back at work today and have been feeling queasy the whole day, exactly like I felt when I was pregnant with her.

Pregnancy is only a very, very slim possibility. So, I'm wondering: Have any of you mamas felt sick after marathon nursing a toddler? Or should I get straight to Rite-Aid and put that coupon I have for $3 off a pregnancy test to use?

Yup. Or get the cheap ones from the $ store-- they are just as reliable.

nursing/nausea

Hi, my son was sick and teething a couple weeks ago and only wanted to nurse as well. I noticed I was getting really hungry because of it and felt sick to my stomache just like I did when I was pregnant with him (I was worried about this). I havn't taken a test but am pretty sure I'm not pregnant, I just think I let myself get too hungry. It's amazing how many calories go into making mamas milk! But if you are still concerned about it just take a test : )

Thanks for your responses, mamas. Turns out it was just a 24-hour bug...a simpler (and much less exciting) reason that pregnancy. I took a test just to be sure and it was negative.

And I completely agree about how sometimes we just forget to eat enough while nursing...it's like a workout even though it doesn't feel like it!
